Many technologies have been developed to make use of solar radiation. Some of these technologies make direct use of the solar energy (e.g. to provide light, heat, etc.), while others produce electricity.

Photovoltaic Systems Solar cells that convert sunlight directly into electricity. Solar cells are typically combined into modules that hold about 40 cells. Thin film solar cells use layers of semiconductor materials only a few micrometers thick. Typically these systems are made of panels consisting of many reflective parabolic shapes which generate heat by concentrating the suns light onto a receiver.

Solar Hot Water is the process of heating water and even air with solar energy by using the existing water supply, running the water through the system and storing the water in tanks to be used as needed.
