Wind

pic1Wind energy uses wind turbines to convert the wind’s kinetic energy into mechanical power. Wind energy creates electromagnetic current, which is then regulated and fed directly into the electric grid. Wind turbines range from 100 kilowatts to 5 megawatts on a commercial level and need wind speeds of 10 miles per hour to start generating electricity.

Wind energy reduces energy consumption, saves money, and creates jobs by using the wind to provide electricity to consumers.

Conserve Energy

Generating electricity using wind will decrease the dependence of fossil fuel generated energy, and increase the amount of clean energy used to provide electricity.

Save Money

Wind turbines lack the dependence for variable fuel costs including gasoline and fossil fuels, therefore driving down the price of electricity.

Create Jobs

With the severity of the current economic situation wind energy can create job opportunities for our struggling economy. Wind energy created 35,000 employment opportunities in 2008 alone.
