HVAC Enhancement Systems

Solar Blue offers HVAC Enhancement ancillary products that can be added to HVAC equipment that reduces energy consumption and improves air quality issues.

Variable Air Volume (VAVs)

VAV systems are designed to be more energy efficient in meeting heating and cooling needs in different building zones. VAV systems adjust the rate of air flow into a room or space based on the current requirements, therefore optimizing the air flow within the HVAC ductwork. Adjusting the air flow into the room or space will reduce the air handler load, ultimately saving energy usage. VAV systems can save up to 30% of energy costs in HVAC energy consumption.
 

Adjustable Speed Drives (ASDs)

Most HVAC motors remain at constant speed, when much of the time these fans can be operated at less than maximum designed speed. Slowing a pump or motor will reduce  the frequency needed to supply power to the motor, therefore decreasing energy usage.  ASD’s match the flow and pressure requirements of air handling systems in order to limit energy usage, while maintaining air quality standards.
 

Microguard Coatings

Microguard coatings are HVAC protective treatments designed to improve air quality, reduce corrosion, and improve heat transfer. These protective treatments extend the life of the equipment, promoting good air flow efficiencies. Improving heat transfer and air flow efficiencies will decrease the amount of energy consumption in the HVAC unit, while reducing corrosion and mold improve indoor air quality. Microguard coatings can save up to 15% of HVAC energy consumption.
